what motivates Us
As we examine the origins of our food and the journey it takes to reach us, it prompts reflection on how agriculture and food production have evolved over time. Each stage involved in delivering food to our homes affects the soil and environment that nurture it, supported by the efforts of farmers.
The high demand for food leads to an increased reliance on various chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which negatively impact the soil and plants. This practice gradually degrades our soil at every stage of its life cycle. If we persist in this manner, there may come a day when our soil and natural ecosystems can no longer endure this strain and will ultimately perish. Additionally, people are consuming the same compromised food, which adversely affects their physical health and overall well-being.
Looking back over the past decade, we can see that food was once healthy and natural for everyone, free from chemicals and pesticides. Farmers relied on their own manure and compost for cultivation and used traditional seeds instead of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The combination of natural farming practices resulted in both nutritious food and healthy soil. Our goal now is to return to these methods, prioritizing the health of our soil and plants by moving away from chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
We must first understand that soil is a living ecosystem. To restore its vitality, we need to adopt natural and organic practices that will allow the soil to regenerate and provide us with healthy, nutritious food. By nurturing this life within the soil, we can ensure a sustainable future for agriculture and our health.
